Natyamanjari was started in the year 1962 by Karnataka Kalasri Kalaimamani Guru Sri Udupi Laxminarayan. He is a devoted disciple of  “Bharata Sastra Ratna” Guru Kancheepuram Sri Ellapa Mudaliyar. Since inception NatyaManjari has glorified the culture and tradition of  Bharatanatyam and has students across the globe. Udupi Smt Madhumathy Prakash, his daughter and disciple has emerged and excelled herself in the tradition created by her father and is now the Director of  NatyaManjari. To pay their obeisance and tribute to their Guru, Sri Kancheepuram Ellapa Mudaliyar, the institution has been organizing  “Guru CharanaSmaranam” every year since 1993.
